Who's ready for some Saturday football?  The Chiefs are playing the Broncos in a "Monday Night Football" doubleheader.  The Chiefs can earn a bye with a win and a Titans loss to the Texans on Sunday in Houston.  The Cowboys will play the Eagles at 8:15 p.m.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  Get to a TV if you can.  The Chiefs are in a battle for a bye and have the ball while trailing the Broncos, 21-17, at the start of the fourth quarter.

The Chiefs beat the Broncos, 28-24.
The Cowboys beat the Eagles, 51-26.

There's a lot of happy people in Colorado today.  According to Adam Schefter, the Broncos fired head coach Vic Fangio.

What a thriller tonight in Las Vegas!  After the Chargers scored a touchdown with no time left to force overtime, the Raiders' Daniel Carlson kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired for a 35-32 win and an epic finish to clinch a playoff spot.  The Raiders will play the Bengals on Saturday in Cincinnati.

Playoff schedule:

Saturday - Raiders at Bengals, Patriots at Bills

Sunday - Eagles at Bucs, 49ers at Cowboys, Steelers at Chiefs

Monday - Cardinals at Rams.

The NFL has totally fucked this up by changing the playoff format. This was already a weird season enough with the 17th regular season game, but why a Monday playoff game? There was nothing wrong with the old format giving the #2 seeds a first round bye.

This is so screwed up now that if the Chiefs win as the #2 seed, they will get a 6 day rest before their next playoff game (on a saturday), while the #3-5 seeds will get a full 7 days rest. What's the point in even being the #2 seed now if you're going to get screwed like that?

This one caught me off-guard.  According to Adam Schefter, Brian Flores is out as the head coach of the Dolphins despite the team winning eight of their final nine games.

Even for a team this deep in turmoil, I didn't expect change this quickly.  According to Adam Schefter, the Texans fired head coach David Culley after just one season.

This ranks at a 10 on the Bad Decision Scale.  After a long run with no timeouts left, the Cowboys' Dak Prescott was unable to get the ball spotted in time for a final play in a 23-17 loss to the 49ers.  The 49ers will play the Packers on Saturday in Green Bay, Wis.

WTF was that at the end of the Niners and Cowboys game!?

14 seconds to go. No time outs and you have 40 yards to go, run a QB draw! That will get you the TD!

And then blame the refs after the loss.

Just losers, all of them. I hope they never make it back to the NFC title game.

It's time for the last game of the weekend.  The Cardinals are playing the Rams in the NFC Wild Card Round.  Updates to come.

The Rams beat the Cardinals, 34-11, to advance to play the Buccaneers on Sunday in Tampa, Fla.

What a thriller today in Nashville!  The Bengals walked it off against the Titans as Logan Wilson's interception with 20 seconds left helped set up rookie Evan McPherson's winning 52-yard field goal as time expired in a 19-16 win.

What a thriller tonight in Green Bay!  The 49ers' Robbie Gould drove a 45-yard field goal through the snow for a 13-10 win against the Packers, the NFC's top seed, as the 49ers scored 10 points in the final 4:41.
