The long-awaited move may be happening soon.  According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Athletics’ move to Las Vegas was put in motion as they agreed to purchase land near the Las Vegas Strip, where they intend to build a Major League Baseball ballpark.  As for the game, the Athletics lost to the Cubs, 12-2.

I've been to Vegas and the only land near the strip is on the south side in a rough hood unless they plan on bulldozing an old casino the strip is already jammed with venues that would cause a constant bottleneck on the strip

Oh, you hate to see it!  The Cubs' Drew Smyly lost a perfect game in the eighth inning in the most absurd, heartbreaking fashion in a 13-0 win over the Dodgers.

I know the man isn't a homophobe, but this is not a good look.  According to the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw said he disagreed with the team's decision to invite an LGBTQIA+ group to a game.  Updates to come.

The Dodgers beat the Nationals, 9-3.

I saw an artist rendering of the Vegas ballpark it will only be 30k seats the real problem comes with location if you go get ready for a bottleneck traffic jam 82 times a year with it located on Tropicana and the strip 1 block over from the MGM grand hotel

For a team playing so well, this is devastating.  The Rangers’ Jacob deGrom is going to undergo Tommy John surgery.  He signed a five-year, $185 million contract with the Rangers in the offseason.  Updates to come.

The Rangers beat the Cardinals, 6-4.

I cannot remember the last time, if ever, I saw this play live.  Isiah Kiner-Falefa caught the Mets sleeping for the Yankees’ first steal of home since 2016.  Updates to come.

The Mets beat the Yankees, 4-3, in 10 innings.  (What a thriller tonight in New York!)

Stop it, they're already dead!  The Angels are up on the Rockies, 23-0, after four to become the first MLB team in the past 50 years with 20 or more runs after the first four frames.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  This is the type of game where somebody loses their job the next day.  The Angels posted a historic 25-1 blowout by racking up franchise records with 28 hits and 25 runs in a stunning win against the Rockies.

I knew a no-hitter was coming at some point this season, but I never expected it like this.  The Yankees’ Domingo Germán threw the 24th perfect game in MLB history in an 11-0 win over the Athletics.

Minor league fights always seem to bring out major league madness.  Punches were thrown in Triple-A when Guardians No. 2 prospect George Valera shoved an umpire before punching Brewers prospect Alex Jackson in a benches-clearing brawl.  The current Guardians beat the Royals, 6-1, while the current Brewers beat the Cubs, 6-5.

Start the clock now (and I don't mean the pitch clock).  The Pirates are on the clock with a trio of SEC stars leading a stack cast of prospects in the 2023 MLB draft.  As for the Pirates in the present, they beat the Diamondbacks, 4-2.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  If you bleed black and yellow, the future should start looking bright.  The Pirates selected LSU Tigers pitcher Paul Skenes with the No. 1 pick of the MLB draft.  He was the first pitcher taken with the top pick since 2018.

If you are in the Emerald City, I hope have your glove.  The MLB Home Run Derby is on as Mets first baseman Pete Alonso is trying to become a three-time champion as baseball’s best sluggers put on a show in Seattle.  Updates to come.

Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. beat Rays left fielder Randy Arozarena in the finals, 25-23.

So much for the biggest Opening Day payroll in MLB history.  According to ESPN and multiple reports, the Mets traded three-time Cy Young winner Max Scherzer to the Rangers.  Updates to come.

The Mets lost to the Nationals, 11-6.
The Rangers lost to the Padres, 4-0.

I'm pretty sure anybody who bleeds orange and blue is grumbling about the owner previously saying there wouldn't be a fire sale.  According to Jeff Passan, the Astros have a deal in place to acquire Justin Verlander from the Mets.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  Today is a really good day to be a baseball fan in Houston.  The Astros’ Framber Valdez threw his first-career no-hitter in a 2-0 shutout victory over the Guardians.

The Mets lost to the Royals, 7-6, in 10 innings.  (What a thriller tonight in Kansas City!)

Get that man some ice!  MLB stars were fighting as the Guardians' José Ramírez sent the White Sox's Tim Anderson to the ground with a punch to the jaw, sparking a massive brawl in a 7-4 White Sox win.

I am so livid the Tigers traded this guy for next to nothing!  Michael Lorenzen threw the 14th no-hitter in Phillies history and first since 2015 in a 7-0 win over the Nationals.

This team is doomed despite all their big moves.  The Angels’ Shohei Ohtani won’t pitch for the rest of the season because of a ligament tear in his right elbow.  This comes as the Angels lost to the Reds in both games of a doubleheader, 9-4 and 7-3, respectively.

The only words I can use to describe this are “classless” and “brainless.”  The Braves’ Ronald Acuña Jr. was confronted and knocked down by two fans in right field during a game at Coors Field.  He did not appear to be injured.  The Braves beat the Rockies, 14-4.

You’re going to see this on the highlight reels for years.  Michael Harris II got an amazing snag at the wall to start a game-ending double play in the Braves’ 5-4 win over the Phillies to even the series.

Not this close to the World Series, guys!  Tensions exploded in the ALCS when the Rangers’ Adolis García was hit by a pitch that the umpires deemed intentional, leading to the benches clearing and three ejections.  The Rangers lost to the AL West rival Astros, 5-4.

I would have never expected such a brutal beating like this.  The Rangers booked a World Series berth by blowing out the defending-champion Astros, 11-4, in Game 7 of the ALCS to improve to 8-0 on the road this postseason.

And then there were two.  The Diamondbacks completed the comeback, winning the final two games in Philadelphia and taking Game 7 from the Phillies, 4-2, to secure the franchise’s second World Series appearance.  The Diamondbacks will play the Rangers beginning on Friday in Arlington, Texas.

What a thriller tonight in Arlington!  Adolis García called game and sent the first World Series walk-off home run since 2018 into the seats in the 11th inning to win Game 1 for the Rangers, 6-5, over the Diamondbacks.

Somebody play “Higher” by Creed!  The Rangers secured their first World Series title with a 5-0 Game 5 win against the Diamondbacks.  The Rangers finished 11-0 on the road in the playoffs.
