Just give me a reason
Just a little bit’s enough
Just a second, we’re not broken, just bent
And we can learn to love again

It’s been written in the scars on our hearts

We have a couple of big blockbusters to open the season.  No. 3 Kansas is playing No. 4 Duke right now.  No. 1 Michigan State will play No. 2 Kentucky tonight at 9:30 p.m.  Updates to come.

Duke upset Kansas, 68-66.
Kentucky upset Michigan State, 69-62.

You hate to see a team take this big of a hit so early in the season.  The attorney for No. 14 Memphis' James Wiseman, a possible No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, said that Wiseman has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  This has been a story that's been moving at a quick pace.  Memphis said in a statement that Wiseman will play tonight against UIC after an emergency temporary restraining ordered was granted.

Memphis beat UIC, 92-46.

What just happened?  No. 1 Kentucky was upset by Evansville, 67-64.  The Wildcat were favored by 25 points by Caesars.  The Purple Aces were picked eighth in the preseason Missouri Valley poll and were given a 4 percent chance to win by the Basketball Power Index.

There goes the Tigers' season.  Memphis announced center James Wiseman was declared ineligible and will be withheld from competition while awaiting reinstatement.

Looks like we'll have closure.  The NCAA ruled No. 16 Memphis' James Wiseman must sit an additional 11 games and is eligible to return on Jan. 12, 2020, against South Florida in Tampa, Fla.  Updates to come.

Memphis beat Little Rock, 68-58.

What a thriller tonight in Durham!  No. 1 Duke was upset at home by Stephen F. Austin, 85-83, in overtime.  The Lumberjacks sank a buzzer-beating layup in overtime and picked up their first-ever win against an AP No. 1 team.  The Blue Devils were dealt their first nonconference home loss since 2000.

Will somebody please stay at the top?  Texas Tech upset No. 1 Louisville, 70-57, handing the Cardinals their first loss of the season.  It was third time an unranked team beat an AP No. 1 this season.

One of the best rivalries in the sport just got ugly.  After a Kansas State player drove to the basket late against No. 3 Kansas, a Kansas player blocked that shot a sparked a massive brawl that poured into the crowd in Lawrence, Kan.  The Jayhawks beat the Wildcats, 81-60.

I'm just surprised he wasn't kicked off the team.  Kansas forward Silvio De Sousa was suspended indefinitely for his role in the brawl with Kansas State, pending the outcome of reviews by the Jayhawks and the Big 12.
