The protests have reached the diamond.  According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the Mariners won’t play tonight’s game against the Padres after the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

UPDATE:  We will see how many more games are postponed after this.  According to Jeff Passan, a third MLB game was postponed as the Dodgers and Giants won’t play in the wake of the Blake shooting.

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit’s enough
Just a second, we’re not broken, just bent
And we can learn to love again
It’s in the stars
It’s been written in the scars on our hearts
That we’re not broken, just bent
And we can learn to love again

What a gem!  The Cubs' Alec Mills threw a no-hitter in a 12-0 win over the Brewers.  Mills threw the first Cubs no-hitter since current Phillies player Jake Arrieta in 2016.  In case anyone is wondering, the Phillies lost to the Marlins, 2-1, in seven innings in Game 1.  Updates to come.

The Phillies lost to the Marlins, 8-1, in seven innings in Game 2.

I am going to be drowning in baseball today.  It all starts with the Reds vs. Braves right now.  Updates to come.

The Braves beat the Reds, 1-0, in 13 innings (What a thriller today in Atlanta!).
The Astros beat the Twins, 3-2.
The Marlins beat the Cubs, 5-1.
The Athletics beat the White Sox, 5-3.
The Cardinals beat the Padres, 7-4.
The Yankees beat the Indians, 10-9, to advance to play the AL East rival Rays following their 8-2 win over the AL East rival Blue Jays beginning on Monday in San Diego.
The Dodgers beat the Brewers, 4-2.

What a thriller today in San Diego!  Carlos Correa hit a walk-off home run to extend the ALCS, becoming the sixth player with a walk-off home run in an MLB playoff elimination game as the Astros downed the Rays, 4-3, to force Game 6 on Friday in San Diego.

The fish held on.  The Rays advanced to the World Series and avoided blowing a 3-0 lead as they defeated the Astros, 4-2, in Game 7 to capture their first pennant since 2008.

This postseason has been so exciting and now, the Top 2 seeds are the ones left standing.  The Dodgers advanced to the World Series by defeating the Braves, 4-3, in Game 7 of the NLCS and will play the Rays beginning on Tuesday in Arlington, Texas.  The Dodgers became the eighth team to win an LCS after trailing 3-1.

The future Hall of Famer finally had a good World Series game.  The Dodgers won Game 1 of the World Series over the Rays, 8-3.  The Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw had one earned run and eight strikeouts and Mookie Betts had a home run, two runs and two stolen bases.

No team has a distinct advantage going into the day off.  The Rays evened the series with a 6-4 Game 2 win over the Dodgers.  The Rays’ Brandon Lowe had two home runs and three RBIs.  The teams combined for five homers.

The momentum has swung back to the West Coast.  The Dodgers dominated the Rays, winning Game 3 of the World Series, 6-2, stretching their lead in the series, 2-1.  The Dodgers’ Walker Buehler has six innings pitched, 10 strikeouts and one earned run and Mookie Betts had two hits and two stolen bases.

What a thriller tonight in Arlington!  Brett Phillips' bloop single and the Dodgers' costly errors gave the Rays an unbelievable 8-7 comeback Game 4 win in the World Series.

After so many cases of falling short, one win is all that remains.  The Dodgers retook the World Series at 3-2 lead by beating the Rays, 4-2.  The Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw had six strikeouts and two earned runs and the team can clinch the series on Tuesday in Arlington, Texas.

Somebody play “I Love L.A.” by Randy Newman.  The Dodgers defeated the Rays, 3-1, in Game 6 to capture their first World Series since 1988.

UPDATE:  You do not see this every day.  The Dodgers’ Corey Seager won the World Series MVP, becoming the first shortstop to earn the honor since 2010.
