Jim Steinman, the composer, lyricist and record producer who worked with artists like Meat Loaf, Celine Dion, Bonnie Tyler and more, died Monday. He was 73.

He left a fantastic musical legacy. I recall listening to Bat Out of Hell LP about 40 years ago, absolutly blew my mind. More recently saw his theatre Musical in London, it worked well. Was concerned that no one could sing the songs as well as Meat Loaf, but all the cast were great. RIP Jim.

For those of a certain age, news just in on the death at 65 of the lead singer of Bay City Rollers, Les Mckeown.

I was about to post this sad news, heard a nice tribute on Jonny Walker's 1970's Radio show this afternoon (Sunday). Genuine 1970's Boy band, I was more into Slade, Sweet, T Rex, Mud. But in their time Bay City Rollers were huge, under rated today.

Julie E. “Tawny” Kitaen, who famously appeared in several music videos for the rock group Whitesnake in the ‘80s, has died. The Orange County, Calif. coroner’s office, which listed her as Tawny Finley, stated that she died at her home in Newport Beach on Friday morning, but a cause of death has not been revealed. She was 59.
