If you can believe it, we are about half an hour away from the NBA preseason tipping off this morning in (of all places) Saitama, Japan. As a new season begins to dawn upon, use this space to post news and notes regarding the Association. And remember, keep it civil.
-
Welcome to a brand new season. The regular season begins tonight with a long-standing rivalry and a banner ceremony. Here is your Opening Night schedule.
Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics tonight at 7:30 p.m.
Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors tonight at 10 p.m.
-
I don't think we'll ever understand what goes through this man's brain. The Nets issued a statement condemning point guard Kyrie Irving's decision to promote an antisemitic film and book on social media.
-
Honestly, this has been a pretty underwhelming coaching experience. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets fired head coach Steve Nash. Updates to come.
UPDATE: Looks like there's more details to this departure. According to Wojnarowski, the decision to part ways was mutual between the Nets and Nash.
UPDATE 2: This is a fast-moving story. According to Wojnarowski, suspended Celtics head coach Ime Udoka is likely to be named the next head coach of the Nets, possibly in the next 24-48 hours.
The Nets lost to the Bulls, 108-99.
-
This team is in a world of hurt. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, 76ers star shooting guard James Harden suffered a right foot tendon strain and is expected to miss a month.
-
To paraphrase Hank Hill, that man ain't right. The Nets suspended point guard Kyrie Irving for at least five games without pay for "failure to disavow antisemitsm."
-
Good luck handling this hot mess of a team. The Nets announced that interim head coach Jacque Vaughn will be the team's head coach. Updates to come.
The Nets beat the Knicks, 112-85.
-
Excuse me for a moment, have to get it out of my system somehow; HOLY FUCK!! ANTHONY DAVIS!! This man has been on FIRE the past two games!!!
-
I was expecting a fire sale, not a record-breaker. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, billionaire mortgage lender Mathew Ishbia is finalizing the purchase of the Suns with a price in the neighborhood of $4 billion. Updates to come.
The Suns lost to the Wizards, 113-110.
-
The annual tradition is back on! NBA Christmas is here with five games. The Lakers will play the Mavericks at 2:30 p.m. and the Bucks will play the Celtics at 5 p.m. Tonight, the Grizzlies will play the Warriors at 8 p.m. The 76ers are playing the Knicks right now. Updates to come.
The 76ers beat the Knicks, 119-112.
The Mavericks beat the Lakers, 124-115.
The Celtics beat the Bucks, 139-118.
The Warriors beat the Grizzlies, 123-109.
The Nuggets beat the Suns, 128-125, in overtime.
-
In all the years I've watched the NBA, this was one of the best stat lines I've ever seen. Luka Dončić posted a 60-21-10 triple-double and sank the tying basket to send the game to overtime before the Mavericks downed the Knicks, 126-121. It was the first game in NBA history with a 60-20-10 stat line.
-
I'm sure we'll see this play on a poster soon. The Grizzlies' Ja Morant threw down the dunk of the century, destroying a defender with a breathtaking, earthshaking, history-making one-handed slam you have to see in a 130-112 win over the Pacers.
-
LeBron is into the 38,000 point club and nearing the all time scoring record.
I know as a Lakers fan, the LeBron era has been incredibly frustrating. We did get a title out of it, so we really can't complain that much. He frustrates us with trying to be GM and so forth, but it has been so much fun watching him over the years. I remember in those bad years when they were tanking, I would've dreamed for a star like LeBron to revitalize the franchise. I will be happy to watch him break the record and just live in the moment of witnessing it.
-
I guarantee nobody had this on their 2023 bingo card. Shannon Sharpe and the Grizzlies' Ja Morant's dad got into a shouting match at Crypto.com Arena and were separated by the referees, security and the Grizzlies' bench after tempers flared at the Lakers game. Updates to come.
The Lakers beat the Grizzlies, 122-121.
-
There's just something special about the way the man plays the game. The NBA was on Dame Time as Damian Lillard scorched the Jazz for 60 points in the Trail Blazers' 134-124 win. He is the first NBA player to have three games with a 60-5-5 stat line.
-
I am going to handle this carefully. The Grizzlies, Heat and other NBA teams spoke out on 29-year-old Tyre Nichols’ death at the hands of five Memphis, Tenn., police officers, saying, “This is just crazy.” Updates to come.
The Grizzlies lost to the Timberwolves, 111-100.
The Heat beat the Magic, 110-105.
-
What a great day this is going to be! There is a huge lineup of NBA games. The Nuggets are playing the 76ers now. The 76ers' Joel Embiid is 4-2 against the Nuggets' Nikola Jokić. The Knicks will play the Nets at 5:30 p.m. The Lakers will play the Celtics at 8:30 p.m. Updates to come.
The 76ers beat the Nuggets, 125-119.
The Nets beat the Knicks, 122-115.
The Celtics beat the Lakers, 125-121, in overtime.
-
Calm down, guys! There was a massive brawl in the NBA as the Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell hurled the ball at the Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooks, who was tackled by a coach in a huge crowd-breaching fight. The Cavaliers beat the Grizzlies, 128-113.
-
Sometimes, I wonder if Uncle Drew still wants to play basketball. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving told the franchise he wants to be traded ahead of Thursday's deadline.
-
That is two fights in as many nights! Tempers flared between the Magic and Timberwolves when the Magic’s Mo Bamba came off the bench to confront the Timberwolves’ Austin Rivers, leading to a fight and five player ejections. Updates to come.
The Magic beat the Timberwolves, 127-120.
-
I never would've put this place down on my Uncle Drew landing spot bingo card. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets are trading point guard Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks.
-
All hail the new king! The Lakers’ LeBron James dethroned Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most regular-season points in NBA history with his 38,388th-career point. Updates to come.
The Lakers lost to the Thunder, 133-130.
-
Normally I don't care about basketball yet I find it funny LeBron sets the new record by 2 points then takes the rest of the night off
-
Maybe you haven't heard, but this is kind of a big deal. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers are finalizing a trade for the Timberwolves' D'Angelo Russell and two players in a three-team deal involving Russell Westbrook. Updates to come.
The Timberwolves beat the Jazz, 143-118.
-
And LeBron the GM strikes again looks like he's not so great at getting the right talent to win chips at least he did the Lakers a solid and got Lonzo shipped off to NO while daddy was still talking crazy about how his kids would wreck the league
-
It feels a title run is in the works in the desert. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Suns are nearing a blockbuster trade to acquire Nets star power forward Kevin Durant.
-
And LeBron the GM strikes again looks like he's not so great at getting the right talent to win chips at least he did the Lakers a solid and got Lonzo shipped off to NO while daddy was still talking crazy about how his kids would wreck the league
This trade had nothing to do with LeBron. If he got what he wanted, they would've traded for Kyrie after all his moaning and groaning about it. The Lakers front office told him no. Last year, they made him stick with Russ after he pushed that ridiculous trade.
I am OVERJOYED tonight knowing Westbrook is gone. Hands down the worst trade I have ever seen in my lifetime as a Lakers fan. Good riddance!
-
Brooklyn owner stepped in saying no way was Kyrie getting what he wanted out of the trade and second the owner wasn't helping the Lakers in any way so Kyrie to Dallas
-
The NBA deadline really has been bat shit insane
-
Brooklyn owner stepped in saying no way was Kyrie getting what he wanted out of the trade and second the owner wasn't helping the Lakers in any way so Kyrie to Dallas
If you follow the Lakers, you'll see where the front office didn't want Kyrie after his antisemitism went on full display last year. They let LeBron break up a championship team for Russ, and have been slowly fixing things.
I am happy they got rid of Russ and Bev; two cancers off the team and they managed to win both trades pretty well by bringing in younger players and improving. This season is lost, but at least next year looks promising so far. Happy to get D'Angelo back, always had a soft spot for him.
-
The NBA deadline really has been bat shit insane
Indeed it has.
If the Suns stay healthy, the West is theirs.
Being a Lakers fan, I am just thrilled we got rid of Russ and ended the nightmare lol.

Breaking news former Laker and current Bull Lonzo ball will miss remainder of season with undisclosed yet consistent foot injury that should keep him sidelined till at least October
I see this as the pinnacle of his dad being his hype man coming out of college seems the only thing Lonzo is wrecking is his body and career this is a rough road for someone drafted so high by Magic Johnson
I think in next CBA owners will use things like this to keep parents at arms length and minimize interference in the future or costing the player money by going lower in the draft
-

I don't know about that. LaMelo turned out to be pretty good despite their dad.
There is a reason Magic is not a GM anywhere in the league anymore.
-
I'm looking at it from the angle of daddy hyped his kids up while they barely had any college experience and expected them to come in and win chips out the ass where ever they went and so far Lonzo has been mostly trade bait I don't even count little brother anyway he has enough on his plate with Jordan being his boss
I'm just waiting for every hall of fame player alive to go one on one with daddy and destroy him and someone gets it on camera where it never goes away and he &as to crawl under a rock
-
Are we sure this wasn’t the All-Star Game? De’Aaron Fox hit a clutch jumper in double overtime as the Kings beat the Clippers, 176-175, in the second-highest scoring NBA game ever.
-
Does everybody have their watches saying "Dame Time"? Damian Lillard scored 71 points and poured in 13 three-pointers as the Trail Blazers star posted the NBA's eighth 70-point game in a 131-114 win over the Rockets.
-
What a game tonight in Dallas! Lakers have been fun to watch again now that Westbrook is finally gone. This team actually is playing with heart and with a fire, I'm enjoying these last few games!
-
And the double whammy hits again LeBron goes down where Lakers are in trouble fighting for playoff spot
LaMelo ball. done for season with ankle injury another nail in the coffin for ball Brothers careers this has to hurt daddy ball even more than a warehouse full of unsold sneakers
-
LOL Clippers are in a freefall at 0-4 after adding Westbrook. That's the best thing he's done for the Lakers.
-
Seeing a fall from grace like this can sometimes be heartbreaking. Former six-time NBA All-Star Shawn Kemp was arrested and booked in a Tacoma, Wash., jail in connection with a drive-by shooting.
-
D'Angelo Russell returns and Lakers win their 3rd in a row. We are now in the playoffs and could climb further up! The West is wide open!
-
I love games that come with this sort of big game atmosphere! The Bucks are playing the Warriors tonight at 8:30 p.m. Updates to come.
UPDATE: If you can, get to a TV! The Warriors closed on an 11-3 run as the showdown with the Bucks between the past two NBA champions is heading to overtime.
The Warriors beat the Bucks, 125-116, in overtime.
-
I know this is merely a matter of much money he'll lose since he'll be away from the game indefinitely. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA is suspending Grizzlies star Ja Morant eight games without pay for conduct detrimental to the league. Updates to come.
The Grizzlies lost to the Heat, 138-119.
-
Welcome to Springfield! According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Jazz co-owner Dwyane Wade, Mavericks special advisor Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, ASVEL Basket owner Tony Parker, Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon and Spurs head coach and president Gregg Popovich were elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame.
-
I just want to take a moment to brag that the Lakers are officially over .500
They are 12-6 after trading Westbrook and getting players that can actually play defense. I cannot wait for the playoffs. This team is dangerous right now and a serious threat to everyone in the west.
Meanwhile, the Clippers have regressed tremendously after signing Westbrook lol.
-
What a on Earth is happening here? The Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert took a swing at teammate Kyle Anderson in a heated exchange as the two had to be separated. Updates to come.
The Timberwolves beat the Pelicans, 113-108, to play the Lakers on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
-
This is now do or die time. The NBA Play-In Tournament is on now. We're starting off with the Bulls facing the Raptors. The Thunder will play the Pelicans tonight at 9:30 p.m. Updates to come.
The Bulls beat the Raptors, 109-105, to play the Heat on Friday in Miami.
The Thunder beat the Pelicans, 123-118, to play the Timberwolves on Friday in Minneapolis.
-
Pelicans flame out as usual. I am so glad I don't live in NOLA and have to deal with their arrogant fans. With the Saints, every loss is some how Roger Goodell and the refs fault. With the Pelicans, they seriously still act like they some how won the Anthony Davis trade and whine about the Lakers nonstop.
-
Strange that da bulls are doing so well and Lonzo ball isn't even helping I think the brass might get rid of him later and save themselves a giant headache when the go on road trip to play Lakers and there is daddy in the stands talking crazy
-
Strange that da bulls are doing so well and Lonzo ball isn't even helping I think the brass might get rid of him later and save themselves a giant headache when the go on road trip to play Lakers and there is daddy in the stands talking crazy
They're doing so well to just barely make the playoffs without him with a losing record. Starting to think you don't watch much basketball.
-
I don't
Just imagine a world where the ball Brothers are hall of famers daddy would never shut up
-
I don't
Just imagine a world where the ball Brothers are hall of famers daddy would never shut up
You're literally the first person in years I've seen talk about them who isn't a Lakers fan discussing his draft lol. No one cares about their dad anymore.
-
I only pay a limited amount of attention to their careers so when they retire analysts will crush them for me throwing dad under the bus pointing out what happened on draft night and ridiculing him for not delivering on his kids careers what he said they could do
I went to a convention and some dude was walking around in a Lonzo Lakers jersey and this was right after LeBron left for LA I saw so many people that wanted to beat him down and homeboy was clueless
-
I know this should be in the NFL thread, but given who’s in this deal, I’ll post it here and somewhere else. According to Adam Schefter, Washington Commanders owners Daniel Snyder and Tanya Snyder reached a preliminary nonexclusive agreement to sell the Commanders to the group led by 76ers and New Jersey Devils owner Josh Harris for $6.05 billion.
-
Magic Johnson is also part of the ownership group so I think it fits
-
Bulls lose to the Heat 102-91 and miss the playoffs entirely after the posts in here. Not saying Money jinxed them but LOL
-
I jinxed nothing Chicago finding out they can make playoffs without Lonzo and get rid of him for someone better
-
And now, the postseason is officially upon us. The NBA playoffs have begun. The Nets are playing the Atlantic rival 76ers. There are three other games today. Updates to come.
The 76ers beat the Nets, 121-101.
The Celtics beat the Hawks, 112-99.
The Knicks beat the Cavaliers, 101-97.
The Kings beat the Pacific rival Warriors, 126-123.
-
I'm ready for some fun basketball. LeBron James is beginning his quest for a fifth NBA title as the Lakers are visiting Ja Morant and the Grizzlies in Game 1. Updates to come.
The Lakers beat the Grizzlies, 128-112.
-
My pick to win the title is in grave danger already. Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a lower back contusion and will not return for the remainder of the Bucks' playoff opener against the Heat. Updates to come.
The Heat beat the Bucks, 130-117.
-
Oh, this will be a multi-game suspension! The Warriors’ Draymond Green was ejected from a 114-106 playoff loss for stomping on the chest of the Kings’ Domantes Sabonis.
-
Seriously, that’s it? Warriors power forward Draymond Green was given a one-game suspension without pay for stepping on the chest of Kings power forward Domantas Sabonis in Game 2.
-
Seriously, that’s it? Warriors power forward Draymond Green was given a one-game suspension without pay for stepping on the chest of Kings power forward Domantas Sabonis in Game 2.
Sabonis grabbed his leg shortly before that. They also got into it in game 1. I think that complicates things for it.
The worst part in that game is the Warriors had some momentum before that happened. Now they're in trouble down 0-2. I still expect them to at least claw back to tying it in Oakland.
-
Wow, this is a lot for anybody to take in, especially right now. The sister of the Clippers' Kawhi Leonard was sentenced to life without parole for the murder of an elderly woman in a casino bathroom in 2019. Updates to come.
The Clippers lost to the Suns, 112-100.
-
This feud has gotten deeply personal now. The Grizzlies' Dillon Brooks struck the Lakers' LeBron James below the belt and got tossed in Game 3. Updates to come.
The Lakers beat the Grizzlies, 111-100.
-
I've been looking forward to this game all day. Draymond Green is returning from suspension as the Warriors are looking to even the series against the Kings. Updates to come.
The Warriors beat the Kings, 126-125.
-
This is quite the upgrade in coaches, provided he keeps it in his pants. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Ime Udoka agreed to a deal to become the next Rockets head coach.
-
Ice Trae strikes again! Trae Young pulled up from downtown and drained the go-ahead three-pointer with 2.1 seconds left as the Hawks won, 119-117, to force Game 6 against the Celtics on Thursday in Atlanta.
-
The Butler did it again! The Heat’s Jimmy Butler hit a wild, miraculous game-tying shot with less than a second remaining to force overtime in Game 5. Updates to come.
UPDATE: Can I get a re-do picking the NBA Finals winner? Butler dropped 42 points as the eighth-seeded Heat rallied from a 16-point deficit to eliminate the top-seeded Bucks, 128-126, in overtime. The Heat will play the Knicks beginning on Sunday in New York.
-
The champs are in trouble. The Beam stayed lit as the Kings forced a winner-take-all Game 7 against the Warriors on Sunday in Sacramento, Calif., with a 118-99 win as De’Aaron Fox dropped 26 and Malik Monk added 28 off the bench.
-
My day is ruined and my disappointment is immeasurable. The Lakers eliminated the Grizzlies with a 125-85 blowout. The Lakers’ LeBron James has beaten 20 teams in a playoff series to tie an NBA record.
-
It's the two best words in sports. The Kings are trying to eliminate Stephen Curry and the defending champion Warriors in a winner-take-all Game 7 matchup. Updates to come.
UPDATE: Will the champs finish this off or will The Beam continue to shine? Curry's 34 points fueled the Warriors to a 91-81 lead against the Kings at the start of the fourth quarter.
UPDATE 2: The crown isn't changing hands yet. Curry set an NBA record for the most points in a Game 7 with 50 as the Warriors topped the Kings, 120-100, to book a second-round date with the Pacific rival Lakers beginning on Tuesday in San Francisco.
-
This is the news I was hoping not to see. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the 76ers' Joel Embiid was ruled out of Game 1 against the Atlantic rival Celtics due to a knee injury. There is optimism of a return for Game 2 against the Celtics on Thursday in Boston. Updates to come.
UPDATE: There is the heroic effort I was hoping to see. James Harden drained the winning triple in a 45-point effort as the 76ers stole Game 1 from the Celtics, 119-115, without Embiid.
-
I think this should solidify his Hall of Fame hopes. 76ers center Joel Embiid won the 2023 NBA MVP award. He averaged 33.1 points and 10.2 rebounds this season.
-
It's the end of an era in Milwaukee. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bucks dismissed head coach Mike Budenholzer. Budenholzer led the Bucks to the title in 2021.
-
Perhaps some change will help out. The Warriors made a late starting lineup change as they look to even the series with the Lakers. Updates to come.
The Warriors beat the Lakers, 127-100.
-
I guarantee we'll see him in the NBA in 2024-25. Los Angeles (Calif.) Sierra Canyon guard Bronny James announced his commitment to USC on Instagram.
-
These two rivals are going to be locked in a struggle for momentum. LeBron James and the Lakers are hosting Stephen Curry and the Warriors in a pivotal Game 3 with the series tied, 1-1. Updates to come.
The Lakers beat the Warriors, 127-97.
-
I love exciting basketball and this is super exciting. The 76ers recovered late to pull even with the Celtics at 107 in a massive Game 4. Overtime is starting now. Updates to come.
UPDATE: This rivalry added another excellent chapter to its already iconic story. James Harden hit a last second three, then Marcus Smart's potential winner came just after the buzzer as The Beard and Joel Embiid combined for 76 points in a 116-115 overtime win against the Celtics to even the series.
-
If this doesn't earn a suspension, I don't know what will. The Nuggets' Nikola Jokić got a technical foul for pushing Suns owner Mat Ishiba during the Nuggets' 129-124 Game 4 loss.
-
Jokic put up 53 points in that loss. He should've won MVP again.
If this doesn't earn a suspension, I don't know what will. The Nuggets' Nikola Jokić got a technical foul for pushing Suns owner Mat Ishiba during the Nuggets' 129-124 Game 4 loss.
He was baited by the owner running his mouth. Shouldn't have lost his cool but it was just a shove. He didn't assault him.
-
King in the arena.
The Lakers dismantling the Warriors brought me so much joy. Mike Breen even did the thing yelling "Blocked by James!"
AD is a monster when he is in the zone. I don't know if this team can make it all the way, but if they knock out the dynasty I will be so happy.
-
I do not like where this is going! LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 50 points and Lonnie Walker IV was the fourth-quarter hero as the Lakers edged the Warriors, 104-101, in Game 4 to take a 3-1 series lead.
-
I do not like where this is going! LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 50 points and Lonnie Walker IV was the fourth-quarter hero as the Lakers edged the Warriors, 104-101, in Game 4 to take a 3-1 series lead.
You left out the best part! They overcame a 12 point deficit to come back and win!
Steph Curry is now 2-8 in his last 10 playoff games vs LeBron without KD.
-

You left out the best part! They overcame a 12 point deficit to come back and win!
THAT WAS THE WORST PART!
-
The champs still have life. Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green each dropped 20 or more points in the Warriors’ 121-106 win over the Lakers to keep their season alive and force Game 6 on Friday in Los Angeles.
-
I was really hoping tonight would have been the end. The Celtics stayed alive against the 76ers with a 95-86 win to force Hame 7 on Sunday in Boston. The Celtics’ Jayson Tatum had 16 points in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are playing the Suns soon. Updates to come.
UPDATE: Phoenix may have been built for a title run, but they have to go back to the drawing board. The new-look Suns were eliminated as the Nuggets reached their fifth conference finals after Nikola Jokić dropped his third triple-double of the series in a 125-100 win.
-
To say that is shocking is an understatement. The Heat beat the Knicks, 96-92, to become the second 8-seed to make the conference finals. Elsewhere, the Warriors are playing the Lakers right now. Updates to come.
UPDATE: I just want to watch the world burn. The Lakers beat the Warriors, 122-101, to book a conference finals berth. The Lakers’ LeBron James set an NBA record with his 41st career series win. The Lakers will play the Nuggets beginning on Tuesday in Denver.
-
Don't give up hope yet the king may still blow it and come up short on another title then the off season will be was that his last shot at another ring among others
-
Perhaps a coaching change will finally put this team over the top. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Suns dismissed head coach Monty Williams after four seasons. Williams was a two-time NBA Coach of the Year.
-
Don't give up hope yet the king may still blow it and come up short on another title then the off season will be was that his last shot at another ring among others
Lakers started 2-10 and are now in the western conference finals now lol. You LeBron haters are truly running out of excuses to put this man down. Didn't you post in here a while back that you don't even watch basketball?
-
LeBron is now 38-10 in closeout games. Best in NBA history.
LeBron, 38-10
Duncan, 35-14
Wade, 22-9
Shaq, 33-14
Jordan, 30-13
Kareem, 37-16
Magic, 32-14
Durant, 21-10
Kobe, 33-16
Bill Russell 25-16
Bird, 22-17
Dr. J, 24-21
Others without 20+ closeout wins:
Curry, 19-9
Kawhi 17-10
Hakeem, 16-10
Wilt, 18-17
K. Malone, 19-24
But ya know, RINGZ RINGZ RINGZ or whatever dumb excuse to put him down.
Lakers are playing with house money now after getting this far. But if he does pull this off and bring home another title, the haters are going to have 2 LA rings they can kiss lol.
-
The poor needs some serious help as soon as possible. The Grizzlies suspended power forward Ja Morant from all team activities after another viral appeared to show him holding a gun.
-
It is time to win or go home. It’s Game 7 as the Celtics are hosting the 76ers with an Eastern Conference finals berth on the line. Updates to come.
UPDATE: Everything sucks! Jayson Tatum dropped 51 in Game 7 for the most points NBA Game 7 history as the Celtics routed the 76ers, 112-88, to the East finals against the Heat beginning on Wednesday in Boston.
-
Wow, teams are not taking playoff disappointment well. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the 76ers fired head coach Doc Rivers after their second-round playoff exit.
-
Please make this miserable season mean something! The NBA Draft Lottery is on now as the Pistons, Rockets and Spurs have the best odds at the No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft that features Metropolitans 92 power forward Victor Wembanyama. Updates to come.
UPDATE: Great, the nightmare is still going to go on! The Spurs won the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft Lottery. The Hornets, Trail Blazers and Rockets rounded out the Top 4.
-
Maybe this game will make me feel better. The Lakers are playing the Nuggets in Game 1. Updates to come.
The Nuggets beat the Lakers, 132-126.
-
Even though I can't stand basketball Detroit still has #5 pick so they can do something get a nice rebound guy or 3 pointer sniper
-
Denver shot lights out last night. For most of the game, it looked like LA would get blown out by 30. They fought and came back to make it a thriller. This is the #1 seed for a reason but I'm not ready to give up yet.
Jokic should've been MVP over Embiid. He has more of a chance of being an all time great and this could be their year.
-
Time to hoop it up again! The Western Conference finals are continuing as the Nuggets are trying to extend their series lead over the Lakers. Updates to come.
The Nuggets beat the Lakers, 108-103.
-
It might just be the Nuggets year. They are winning the close games, but I haven't given up hope yet. We'll see what happens in LA.
-
If all goes well tonight, I'll get the shovel after this game. The Nuggets are playing the Lakers in Game 3 as the Western Conference finals shifted to Los Angeles with Denver seeking a commanding 3-0 lead. Updates to come.
The Nuggets beat the Lakers, 119-108.
-
Congrats to the Nuggets, they played a flawless game in LA.
I am not mad at all to see it end like this. This team started 2-10 and was dead in the water for most of the season. They were so hard to watch with Westbrook and then the injuries to LeBron and AD. No one expected them to turn it around after the trades they made. To sneak into the playoffs as a 7 seed and take down Memphis and Golden State is an accomplishment. I am still very high off that winning series against the Warriors.
Denver is the better team and no one truly expected the Lakers to pull this out except the most die hard homers. They were playing with house money by this point.
I must say, this year has made me respect LeBron so much more. He was willing to run the offense through AD in this playoff run while dealing with his bad foot and now ankle. We are the most spoiled fanbase in the league and many are going to blame LeBron for this and compare him to Kobe, but that's just ridiculous. This team was underdogs in all 3 series. Many had them losing to Memphis. I feel good about them going forward into next year.

I've got a shovel ready in the West and now I've got one ready in the East. The Heat crushed the Celtics by 26 as Gabe Vincent dropped 29 in the Heat's 128-102 win for the a 3-0 East Conference Finals lead. The Celtics' seventh upset loss tied the most in a playoffs in 30 seasons.

Go make history for yourselves! Nikola Jokić and the Nuggets are going for a sweep of LeBron James and the Lakers in Game 4. Updates to come.
UPDATE: This is the opposite of how I wanted things to go. James had 31 at the half after playing nearly the entire first half of a must-win Game 4 as the Lakers lead the Nuggets, 73-58.
UPDATE 2: What a remarkable comeback! Jokić’s NBA-record eighth triple-double this postseason sent the Nuggets to their first NBA Finals with a 113-111 win in Game 4 in Los Angeles to sweep James and the Lakers.
UPDATE 3: This is a new wrinkle I was not anticipating. James is considering retirement, telling ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, “I got to think about it,” when asked if he would walk away from the NBA next season.
-
He could retire and leave behind a huge legacy, though I don't think he will. He has to be able to see how close this team is to being a title contender.
I'm very proud of this Lakers team. To start 2-10 and be a circus show with Russ and Pat Bev, then turn it around at the trade deadline and make a deep playoff run. They knocked off the #2 seed, and the defending champs. All with an old LeBron playing through injury.
They went out fighting unlike the Celtics who just gave up the other day.
I hope the Heat win it all. Happy for Jokic, but I haven't seen a team talk so much crap like Denver after every game. Even their coach shoots his mouth off like a player. It would be funny if Miami took them out in 5.
-
Looks like this great rivalry will have one more day. Jayson Tatum tallied 34 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists as the Celtics forced Game 5 on Thursday in Boston with a 116-99 win over the Heat.
-
This poor guy's mental health isn'r right at all. According to TMZ, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant "is fine" after a welfare check following cryptic social media posts.
-
I do not think there is a need to panic yet. The Celtics forced Game 6 on Saturday in Miami by dominating the Heat, 110-97, at home to inch closer to becoming the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-0 deficit.
-
What a thriller tonight in Miami! Derrick White got the winning putback as time expired to give the Celtics 104-103 win over the Heat and save their season by forcing Game 7 on Monday in Boston.
-
Unbelievable series comeback by the Celtics. We all thought they were done after game 3. Can't wait for game 7.
-
I am sure this is one of the last things the league wished it was dealing with right now. According to Marc Stein, the NBA is investigating referee Eric Lewis over an alleged Twitter account that replied to posts on league officiating.
-
Crisis averted! The Heat booked their seventh NBA Finals trip since 2006 with a 103-84 Game 7 win as the Celtics’ bid to rally from a 3-0 deficit fell short. The Heat will play the Nuggets beginning on Thursday in Denver.
-
It is such a grind to come back from a 0-3 deficit and force a game 7. That record has never been broken cause it seems to be impossible to go through the trials, all while keeping that underdog mentality for 4 consecutive games.
Congrats to the Heat, hope they win it all!
-
This is freaking awesome! According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Monty Williams and the Pistons agreed to a six-year, $78.5 million contract for Williams to become the Pistons’ head coach.
-
Finally, it is showtime! Game 1 of the NBA Finals is on now. The Heat are trying for their fourth title. The Nuggets are seeking their first. Updates to come.
UPDATE: This is getting away early. Jamal Murray has 18 points and Nikola Jokić has 10 assists as the Nuggets lead the Heat by 17, 59-42, entering the third quarter.
UPDATE 2: Is there anything this guy cannot do? Jokić became the second player in NBA history with a triple-double in a Finals debut as the Nuggets took Game 1 and defeated the Heat, 104-93.
-
Miami shot only 2 free throws in game 1. An all time low for the NBA Finals. Will be curious to see if the Heat can win one of the next two, if not they might be in the same trouble the Lakers were.
-
This is freaking awesome! According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Monty Williams and the Pistons agreed to a six-year, $78.5 million contract for Williams to become the Pistons’ head coach.
A great hire! Could not believe the Suns let him go.

Who will have momentum when the series shifts to South Beach? The Heat are playing the Nuggets in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. The Nuggets are ahead, 1-0. Updates to come.
UPDATE: The Joker is at it again! The Nuggets are trying to go up, 2-0, as Nikola Jokić erupted in the third to go up. 83-75, against the Heat. The fourth quarter is starting now.

UPDATE: The two-time former MVP is inhuman! Nikola Jokić is three assists shy of a triple-double as the Nuggets lead the Heat in a tight Game 3, 53-48, entering the fourth quarter.
UPDATE 2: What can this man not do? Jokić recorded the first 30-20-10 game in NBA Finals history as the Nuggets took a 2-1 series lead with a 109-94 win over the Heat.
-
This is a very critical game. Game 4 of the NBA Finals is on now. Can the Nuggets take a commanding 3-1 series lead or will the Heat send the series to Denver tied? Updates to come.
UPDATE: This is going to be a fun finish. The Heat are looking to rally as Nikola Jokić’s double-double has the Nuggets up, 86-73, entering the fourth quarter.
UPDATE 2: This series is almost over. The Nuggets took a 3-1 series lead as Aaron Gordon scored a postseason-high 27 points in a 108-95 win over the Heat.
-
Oh no, not Burnie! According to The Athletic, an on-court bit went wrong and the Heat mascot was sent to the ER after getting punched twice by UFC legend Conor McGregor during Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
-
This could very well be it. Game 5 of the NBA Finals is on now. Can the Nuggets close out the Heat and claim their first title or will the Heat extend the series! Updates to come.
UPDATE: We got a great game going. The Heat lead the Nuggets, 51-44, entering the second half with the Nuggets one win away from their first title and the Heat trying to force Game 6.

-
Congrats to the Nuggets, it was their year. Happy to see Joker get a ring.
