Wait, what the hell?  No. 3 Michigan State was upset by Purdue for their first loss of the season, 40-29, behind Aidan O'Connell's 536 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit’s enough
Just a second, we’re not broken, just bent
And we can learn to love again
It’s in the stars
It’s been written in the scars on our hearts
That we’re not broken, just bent
And we can learn to love again
Just give me a reason

Get ready for the new rankings in a couple of hours.  The College Football Playoff rankings will be released at 9 p.m. tonight.  Updates to come.

UPDATE 2:  I cannot deny there is something I like about the new rankings.  Georgia, Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State topped the second College Football Playoff rankings of 2021.  Cincinnati is fifth and Michigan sixth.

This feels like an elimination loss in the CFP chase.  No. 8 Oklahoma suffered their first loss of the season, getting upset, 27-14, by No. 13 Baylor.  The Sooners were one of the two remaining Power Five unbeatens.

Playoffs will be interesting if it boils down to Alabama, Georgia, OSU and Cincy.

Cincy are having a dream season but we'll see how far they go.

OSU look to have greatly improved over the early part of the season.

Bama is Bama and I don't trust Georgia to beat them until I see it.

I love these big game atmospheres.  No. 4 Ohio State is hosting No. 7 Michigan State in a Top 10 Big Ten clash with massive College Football Playoff implications.  Updates to come.

Ohio State beat Michigan State, 56-7.

That's two emphatic elimination losses today.  No. 23 Utah upset No. 3 Oregon, 38-7, as the Ducks suffered their worst loss as a Top 5 team in school history.

If that's the ranking that will become the playoff picture, Georgia vs OSU in the BCS title game is a strong possibility. Either that or a rematch with Alabama is my guess.

To those of you who thought the Maize and Blue would never get over the hump, suck it!  Hassan Haskins’ five touchdowns led No. 5 Michigan to a 42-27 upset of No. 2 Ohio State, their first win in this rivalry since 2011.  The Wolverines will play Iowa on Dec. 4 in Indianapolis.

Rivalry Week was a special kind of crazy this year.  No. 7 Oklahoma State capitalized on a muffed punt to hold off No. 10 Oklahoma's comeback in a dramatic 37-33 Bedlam win.

I can't believe what just happened.  According to ESPN and multiple reports, head coach Lincoln Riley is leaving Oklahoma to take the same job at USC.

This is shaping up to me one of the most surprising series of coaching moves that I can remember.  According to Yahoo! Sports, LSU is going to hire Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly to the same position.  He is the Fighting Irish's all-time leader in wins.
