That is the kind of resilience champions are made out of.  No. 1 Florida overcame a late 10-point deficit to down No. 3 Texas Tech, 84-79, to book their first men’s Final Four since 2014.

“Oh, joy,” I said sarcastically.  Cooper Flagg and No. 1 Duke locked down a potent No. 2 Alabama, 85-65, to book their 18th men’s Final Four ticket.

This is feeling like a familiar story.  No. 1 Houston defeated No. 2 Tennessee, 69-50, to earn their seventh Final Four appearance.  The Cougars will face Duke on Saturday in San Antonio.

And then there were four.  Johni Broome had 25 points and 14 rebounds to help No. 1 Auburn outlast No. 2 Michigan State, 70-64, as all four one-seeds made the men’s Final Four.  The Tigers will play SEC rival Florida on Saturday in San Antonio.

Only in the Big Dance can you can get a performance like this every night.  Walter Clayton Jr.’s 34 points powered No. 1 Florida to a 79-73 win over No. 1 Auburn and their first men’s title game berth since 2007.

UPDATE:  Thank goodness!  No. 1 Duke’s Cooper Flagg missed a potential go-ahead shot as No. 1 Houston’s 15-3 rally over the final 2:05 sealed a 70-67 comeback win, which included the most chaotic 20 seconds of basketball I’ve ever seen.  The Cougars will play Florida on Monday in San Antonio.

The rest of the country is Gator Bait.  No. 1 Florida rallied from a 12-point deficit to beat No. 1 Houston, 65-63, for their third men’s national championship.  The Cougars’ quest for their first title ended in agonizing fashion as they couldn’t get a shot off on their final possession.
