For me Star wars original canon run I'm not bothering with the mouse empire stuff after the crazy backlash from the most recent woke disaster entry

Even for the rough summer I had I still enjoy watching Star wars for the timeless adventure and remembering no matter how bad my day is Luke, Leia, Han and the rest of the bunch are always getting shot at, blown up, frozen, limbs hacked off, and such yet they always look surprised when it happens over and over again which makes me smile

You know, there's a whole world of movies out there besides Star Wars and capeshit that aren't 'woke'.

The last Star Wars movie released back in 2019. 5 years ago. Time to move on.

2 weeks from now it will be 2025 and I still have to read about how Star Wars was the most perfect thing ever until the woke ruined it.  ::) It's like the prequels never happened or something, idk. Oh wait, they are some of the best movies ever now cause Disney sucks. Never mind. George Lucas is a genius for selling Lucasfilm to another studio. He got billions of dollars and Star Wars fans completely forgot about the prequels after new disappointments. Even better for him, they now defend those shitty movies.

The culture war idiots got their wish. You've effectively ruined every discussion on nerdy stuff to the point that normal people like me who don't give a shit about politics at all, have decided to just leave it all together. I've given up on new video games after Blizzard became infested with politics, comic books, Hollywood and the like. I don't care if someone is right wing, left wing, or whatever. I just want some fun entertainment. That's part of why I come to this forum, so I don't have to read about woke this, woke that.

Star Wars is pretty much dead anyway. It could finally be buried and forgotten if the Youtube people who hate it would finally quit beating the dead horse. You wouldn't even know there are still shows being made if they didn't have to make hundreds of videos with a clickbait title like WOKE DISNEY RUINED SOMETHING YOU LIKED, BE ANGRY. So thank you to them for keeping this dumb shit going.

You read that right. Disney ruined it, so be mad. Don't forget to hit that like button, subscribe, and leave me a comment to tell me how much you hate Disney. That's super important.

Oh and btw, I love free speech so much I will delete the comments that say the most obvious untrue DISINFORMATION like 'the prequels sucked before Disney bought Star Wars' and 'Lucas sold Disney lol' or even 'Hayden Christiansen acting was so cringe before Daisy Ridley' (this is blatant lies, and he was robbed an Oscar)

I have a Youtube channel so that makes me a very important person so listen to me when I tell you to be angry at something.

Those creators and their audience are the only ones watching this stuff now apart from a small group of real fans. So they are actually helping the thing they hate so much remain relevant.

I'm tired of franchises in general. Been saying this for like 3 years now that Hollywood is bloated with franchises. They need to give jobs to new film makers who want to tell stories and not think about planning sequels and future franchises. This is the result of the MCU's success making them all shortsighted into thinking franchises are endless money pits.

It used to be a common saying that sequels were rarely good. Godfather Part 2 and Empire Strikes Back were seen as exceptions and still are.

Watched another Humphrey Bogart film as part of classic movie marathon.

This time, in technicolor, The Caine Mutiny from 1954

I had not seen this movie in many years. I read the book in college when I first discovered the movie and found both to be great in their own right.

Bogart plays a ship captain who served in WW2 and takes over what was originally a more relaxed ship. The other high ranks of the ship do not see eye to eye him on his style of command and begin to conspire against him, while questioning his mental capacity.

All the posters of this movie have José Ferrer next to Bogart, despite him having only around 15 minutes of screen time. Ferrer's performance was so good that they had to put him above the other stars who led the movie. I can't spoil the ending. it's one of those endings that makes the entire movie worth watching start to finish and it all comes down to how Ferrer plays it out.

Robert Francis died tragically the next year at only 25 years old. A young actor who's career was starting to go somewhere, so he didn't live to see where he would've went after the success of this movie.
