This one hurts for me not only do we lose a great player who's sole reason for playing was to win no matter what  he had to do I actually met him back before the pandemic hit at the national he was nice to me I really wish I could have gotten a locker room story from him from back in the day when he played with my distant cousin Billy for the family history books

It’s October and we’re ready for fun!  The Tigers are playing the Astros now.  There are three more Game 1s later.  Updates to come.

The Tigers beat the Astros, 3-1.
The Royals beat the Orioles, 1-0.
The Mets beat the Brewers, 8-4.
The Padres beat the Braves, 4-0.

I remember the day you told me you were leavin'
I remember the make-up running down your face
And the dreams you left behind, you didn't need them
Like every single wish we ever made
I wish that I could wake up with amnesia
And forget about the stupid little things
Like the way it felt to fall asleep next to you
And the memories I never can escape
'Cause I'm not fine at all

This is a do-or-die game.  The Mets and Brewers are meeting in a winner-take-all Game 3 with an NLDS berth at stake at the Phillies lying in wait.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  October is fun!  Pete Alonso delivered a massive go-ahead three-run home run in the ninth to silence the Milwaukee crowd and send the Mets to the NLDS against the NL East rival Phillies beginning on Saturday in Philadelphia with a 4-2 win over the Brewers.

Sorry to say, but my posts from the last couple of days were lost as I cleaned my browser history.  Here’s what went missing.

Nick Castellanos came up with a walk-off base hit on Sunday to give the Phillies a Game 2 win over the Mets.

Spectators threw debris on the field of Dodger Stadium, causing a 12-minute delay in the Padres’ victory over the Dodgers.

I am getting bad flashbacks of the news footage of Katrina ripping through New Orleans.  Hurricane Milton completely shredded the roof of the Rays’ ballpark, Tropicana Field, a staging area for first responders.

Playoff baseball is so much fun.  The Yankees’ Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton stunned Cleveland by blasting back-to-back home runs in the eighth inning to take a 4-3 lead over the Guardians.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  We got bonus baseball!  The Guardians’ Jhonkensy Noel sent the Yankees vs. Guardians game to extra innings with a monster homer with an out to go.

UPDATE:  What a thriller today in Cleveland!  The Yankees fell, 7-5, after the Guardians’ David Fry slugged a massive home run in the 10th inning featuring a massive bat flip.

This should feel commonplace, but it’s been a while.  Juan Soto sent the Yankees to the Fall Classic for the first time in 14 years, eliminating the Guardians, 5-2, in 10 innings with one giant swing of the bat.

Two longtime foes are about to meet again.  The Dodgers beat the Mets, 10-5, to secure the pennant and head to their first World Series since winning the ring in 2020, where they will face the Yankees beginning on Friday in Los Angeles.

What a thriller tonight in Los Angeles!  The Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman blasted the first-ever walk-off grand slam in the World Series for a 6-3 win in 10 innings over the Yankees.

This is something no baseball fan wants to see.  The Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani went back to the locker room with an apparent left arm injury after attempting to steal second base in Game 2.  Updates to come.

The Dodgers beat the Yankees, 4-2.

If this lead holds, there should be no doubt who the World Series MVP will be.  The Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman became the first player to homer in each of the first four games of a World Series to silence Yankee Stadium.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  What a moron!  The Dodgers’ Mookie Betts was heated after a spectator in a Yankees cap tried rip his glove off and was called for interference.

The Yankees beat the Dodgers, 11-4, to force Game 5 on Wednesday in New York.

Bomb voyage!  The Yankees went back-to-back as Aaron Judge broke out of his slump and Jazz Chisholm Jr. a no-doubter to electrify Yankee Stadium in the first.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  It’s like watching the Bad News Bears in the field.  Judge’s routine drop was one of three Yankees defensive blunders in a disastrous fifth as the Dodgers pulled even.

UPDATE 2:  Last call!  Walker Buehler, who won Game 3 on Monday, is on the mound with the Dodgers three outs away from a title and leading the Yankees, 7-6.

UPDATE 3:  Somebody play “I Love L.A.” by Randy Newman or “Kernkraft 400” by Zombie Nation!  The Dodgers won their eighth World Series by stunning the Yankees in Game 5, 7-6, with the largest comeback to clinch a World Series all time.
