Here's your question for the night: No question, it's the monthly writer hype thread.
If you're working on a story that you want to hype up, here is the place to do it.

Here's your question for the night: What book should be turned into a movie?
I think, Disneywar would be a fun movie if it were done along the lines of Barbarians at the Gate or The Pentagon Wars.
From Michael Eisner to Jeffrey Katzenberg, there are enough characters in the book to really make something interesting.

For me this should have been the way the new star wars movies should have gone when they announced they were doing them the Thrawn trilogy of Heir to the empire, dark force rising, and the last command by Timothy Zahn everything was there between the main characters and established plots a live action film would have made huge bank but instead we get some crazy Frankenstein thing that people wish never existed and we get cheated out of a live action Mara Jade as the emperor's hand to drool over okay rant over

A Good Man Is Hard to Find by Flannery O'Connor. It's one of her short stories that has stuck with me over the years. It would make a great movie and could be adapted in modern settings if that's what the director wanted. O'Connor only wrote a few novels.

I would say A Confederacy of Dunces. One of the best southern books ever written, but that movie seems to be cursed. Every time they've tried to adapt it, something goes terribly wrong.

I'm going with American Ninja 2.
I refuse to explain my answer!

The book is better 97% of the time (The Godfather and One Flew Over The Coocoo's Nest are in that 3% exception). Books are a different medium and you can do more with it.

Movies are their own medium and meant to follow a specific rule set if you want them to be good (no, 'content' slop don't count).

I'm going with 'Heat'.
The movie was originally supposed to be a TV show that would've stretched out multiple episodes. The supporting cast were already well developed characters. In a book, you could explore this further with the detectives and Neil's crew. The last time I re-watched this movie, I noticed that Ashley Judd's character had an interesting backstory with cheating on Val Kilmer and getting mixed up with that Jersey guy.

Casino would probably also work better as a book. The movie leaves so much out, like Frank having 3 casinos in real life instead of the sole tower in the movie. That was done deliberately to be easier for viewers to follow the film story.

Here's your question for the night (From Money, thanks!): You wake up and check your email yet the search engine has a celeb headline that makes you fall out of bed from the shock

What is the headline and who's the celeb?

Hmmm, I would be shocked to wake up to the headline that Halle Bailey nuked Mars.

Well, it's time for the first Thursday of the month appeal for more questions!
We're sitting pretty at the moment, but we could always use questions, so if you've got something you'd like to ask the community, then dm it to me.
Thanks!

Interesting headline for sure

For my version I'll go with the headline of Lucy Pinder had triplets after a long weekend of sex with an unknown individual since she had been off the radar during her pregnancy

I am too old to be shocked at anything over celebs, except when they pass. It wouldn't be in your email either. It would be on the front page of Yahoo or whatever news site you use. It's 2025, not 2005.

probably a headline that implies I've fallen into an alternate universe (like Jane Fonda throwing full support behind nuclear power or whatever)

Here's your question for the night: Got any plans for the weekend?
Hopefully it's gonna be a weekend of writing and watching wrestling!
