Here's your question for the night: Most memorable movie going experience?
I'm going with the time I saw Lethal Weapon 4 in the theaters, seeing Jet Li for the first time absolutely blew my mind.

A few years ago a local and pretty small movie theater showed all three Lord of the Rings movies in their extended version in one sitting from about mid-day until deep into the night. With breaks in between the films so everyone could hang out, chat and get some drinks/snacks. The place was packed and the whole mood was very relaxed with some people dressing up as characters from the movies, others ordering pizzas and sharing them with strangers. Everyone knew the movies in and out, of course. And by the third people were definitely starting to show that the drinks had an effect and they were occasionally speaking along with the lines, cheering or singing along with the score.

For me I'm going way back to the opening of star wars Episode 1 the phantom menace every movie theater in the tri state area was playing it on designated screens some of the other summer blockbusters were pulled just to get more people in the seats thankfully I had a seat when the movie started you heard a loud cheer but when the opening crawl happened you could hear a pin drop nobody wanted to make a sound so we didn't miss anything of course when Jar Jar Binks showed up I wasn't the only person in the theater that wished he would be cannon fodder for the battle droids how wrong I was of course after I saw it again with my friend I said it wouldn't surprise me if Jar Jar was going to be the reason the empire took over down the road

I saw Batman Begins in theaters summer of 2005. It was the most fun I ever had at a movie. Going into it, no one expected a serious Batman movie after the cheesy ones from the 90s. Didn't know what to expect at all. One of the best memories I have of living in Louisiana. 2 months later, just a few days after my 13th birthday, hurricane Katrina happened. Going through hell made the memory of that theater experience all the more special.

It's been 20 years now. I like to look back and try to find a positive in that whole thing. Seeing Batman on the big screen was a bright spot in overall terrible year.
