This will make the season highlight reel and a poster.  The Lakers bench lost it as LeBron James switched hands for one of the nastiest windmill slams of his career.  Updates to come.

What a thriller tonight in Salt Lake City!  Hawks star Trae Young called game and drilled an unbelievable half-court heave at the buzzer to defeat the Jazz, 124-121.

In case you missed it last night, the refs took the fun out of a potential dunk of the year.  Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant posterized Spurs center Victor Wembanyama after the whistle for what would’ve been the dunk of the century.

There is no way these two are making up.  According to Shams Charania, the Heat are suspending Jimmy Butler indefinitely after Butler walked out of the team shootaround this morning.  Updates to come.

The Heat beat the Magic, 125-119, in the second overtime.

There is some bad blood boiling here.  The Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama was irate and charged at the Clippers’ Ivica Zubac and had to be held back by his teammates after being shoved to the floor.  Updates to come.

The Clippers beat the Spurs, 128-116.

This trade is going to blow everybody’s minds.  According to Shams Charania, the Mavericks are trading Luka Dončić to the Lakers as part of a deal that sends Anthony Davis to the Mavericks.  This comes as the Lakers beat the Knicks, 128-112.

UPDATE:  Here’s more details on the Dončić trade.  According to Charania, the Mavericks are getting Davis, Max Christie and the Lakers’ 2029 first-round pick as part of a three-team deal with the Jazz, who beat the Magic, 113-99.

UPDATE 2:  Even the rest of the league is perplexed.  The Trail Blazers bench reacted in real time to the shocking blockbuster Dončić trade between the Mavericks and Lakers during a 127-108 win over the Suns.

Looks like someone is happy with yesterday’s news.  According to NBA reporter Chris Haynes, LeBron James is intending to stay with the Lakers beyond Thursday’s trade deadline.

UPDATE:  Having to leave a team you love is hard.  Luka Dončić released an emotional statement, starting with “Dear Dallas,” after his blockbuster trade to the Lakers.  This comes as the Mavericks lost to the Cavaliers, 144-101.

UPDATE 2:  I feel like I work for TMZ with these updates.  Dončić has arrived in Los Angeles.

Who needs to wait for Thursday?  According to Shams Charania, the Kings are finalizing a trade to send De’Aaron Fox to the Spurs in a blockbuster multiteam deal for the Bulls’ Zach LaVine.  This comes as the Bulls lost to the Pistons, 127-119.

UPDATE:  Get a cork board, push pins and a lot of string because we’re about to break this down.  According to Charania, here are the full details of the blockbuster trade that sends Fox from the Kings to the Spurs for LaVine.

The Spurs get Fox and Jordan McLaughlin.

The Kings get LaVine, Sidy Cissoko, the Hornets’ 2025 first-round pick, the Spurs’ 2027 first-round pick, the Timberwolves’ 2031 first-round pick, the Bulls’ 2025 second-round pick, the Nuggets’ 2028 second-round pick and their own 2028 second-round pick back from the Bulls.

The Bulls get Zach Collins, Tre Jones, Kevin Huerter and their own 2025 first-round pick back from the Spurs.

Ugh, some parents need to just shut up.  Lakers point guard Luka Dončić‘s father ripped the Mavericks, saying his son “absolutely doesn’t deserve this” and criticized the “hypocrisy” and “secrecy.”

UPDATE:  Now we know how the deal was done.  There’s a great article inside the “unfathomable” trade, including coffee shops, secret meetings, members of Kobe Bryant’s inner circle and executives saying, “Get rid of everybody I like.”

And this concludes this presentation of “Anatomy of a Breakup”.  According to Shams Charania, the Warriors are acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Heat in a blockbuster deal.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  You know, I think Miami shorted themselves.  According to Charania, the Heat are dealing Butler to the Warriors for Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson and a protected first-round pick, while the Warriors sent Dennis Schröder to the Jazz.

UPDATE 2:  So much for not wanting to stay in the Bay long term.  According to Charania and Brian Windhorst, Butler agreed to a new two-year, $121 million extension with the Warriors.

The Heat beat the 76ers, 108-101.
The Warriors lost to the Jazz, 131-128.

This should make for some awkward moments between the players and team management.  The Lakers said their trade of Dalton Knecht for Mark Williams was rescinded after the Hornets failed to satisfy a condition of the deal.  This comes as the Lakers beat the Pacers, 124-117.
