Dear diary, today was a good day.  The Knicks eliminated the Celtics, 119-81, for their largest playoff win in franchise history and their first Eastern Conference finals berth since 2000, where they will play the Pacers beginning on Wednesday in New York.

Does it get any bigger than this?  MVP candidates Nikola Jokić and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are facing off in a win-or-go-home Game 7 as the Nuggets face the Northwest rival Thunder.  Updates to come.

The Thunder beat the Nuggets, 125-93, to advance to play the Northwest rival Timberwolves beginning on Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

I do not think there was any doubt.  According to Shams Charania, Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won the NBA MVP.  Gilgeous-Alexander joined Nuggets point guard Russell Westbrook and Suns power forward Kevin Durant as the only Thunder players to win.

Get to a TV immediately.  The Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton’s miracle buzzer-beater sent Game 1 against the Knicks to overtime at Madison Square Garden and leaving fans stunned.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  That was incredible!  Unbelievable plays from Haliburton and Aaron Nesmith helped the Pacers stun the Knicks, 138-135, in overtime in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals at Madison Square Garden.

This team has been white hot all season and now they have a chance to win it all.  The Thunder blew out the Timberwolves, 124-94, in Game 5 to reach their first NBA Finals since 2012.  The series starts on June 5 in Oklahoma City.

If any of this is true, what a scumbag!  Pelicans power forward Zion Williamson is being sued for rape and years of “sexual, physical, emotional and financial” abuse.

I cannot expand my thoughts beyond how stupid this is.  According to Shams Charania, the Knicks are firing head coach Tom Thibodeau.

I never thought I would see the day the family dynasty would end.  According to Shams Charania, the Buss family is entering into an agreement to sell their majority ownership of the Lakers to Mark Walter, the CEO of TWG Global.

UPDATE:  This number is insane!  According to Charania, Walter’s agreement to purchase the Lakers from the Buss family is for a valuation of $10 billion.

The Lakers are an immensely valuable property, but 10 billion is an amazing price. I expect that the New York Yankees, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and a few NFL franchises would be multi-billion dollar purchases, but nothing like 10 billion!
