I really should've titled this thread with an asterisk because we are still in a lockout.  Today was supposed to be the first day of the preseason, but with a season anything but guaranteed, I'll open this up and keep this up in case any new developments come up.  Of course, if there is a season, this will be the place to post your news and notes.  As always, please remain respectful.

I'd like to think the team is in better shape now,  According to Jeff Passan, Derek Jeter is stepping down as chief executive officer and part owner of the Marlins.

So, what does everybody want to do as we wait?  MLB commissioner Rob Manfred announced some regular-season games will be canceled after the league and MLBPA could not agree on a deal.

The wait is almost over.  According to Jeff Passan, MLB and the MLBPA reached a tentative agreement on a new labor deal.  The deal still needs to be ratified by both parties.

That's a stack of cash a mile high!  According to Jeff Passan, four-time All-Star right fielder Kris Bryant and the Rockies are in agreement on a seven-year, $182 million contract.

Finally, the big deals are being signed!  According to Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel, first baseman Freddie Freeman agreed to terms with the Dodgers on a six-year, $162 million deal.

Great news, everybody!  The preseason started today in Palm Beach, Fla.  It's great to officially have baseball back.

I don't like this one bit.  According to KRIV, Carlos Correa agreed to a three-year, $105.9 million contract with the Twins that includes opt-outs.  This comes as the Twins lost to the Braves, 3-1.

Finally, the regular season is upon us!  I was wondering if we would get to this point, but we are finally here and with some good rivalry games and a banner ceremony to boot.  Now, let's get some peanuts and Cracker Jack.  Your Opening Day schedule:

Everybody grab a partner.  There was a wild Double-A brawl as the benches cleared after Red Sox prospect Tyreque Reed punched Mets prospect Marcel Renteria in the head following a hit by pitch.  The current Red Sox lost to the Blue Jays, 3-2, while the current Mets beat the Giants, 6-2.

Watching Miggy for 15 years has been special and I love seeing him make this special kind of history.  The Tigers' Miguel Cabrera became the seventh player in MLB history with 3,000 hits and 500 home runs.  Updates to come.

What a thriller today in New York, but there was no need to ruin the game like this!  There was an ugly scene at Yankee Stadium as Yankees fans threw items at Guardians players at the end of a 5-4 Yankees win after clashes with the Guardians' Myles Straw and Oscar Mercado.

Oh, let them fight!  The Mets and Cardinals nearly brawled after the Cardinals' Nolan Arenado took exception to a pitch up and in as the beef between the teams continues in a 10-5 Cardinals win.

May he never darken baseball's doorway again.  Dodgers All-Star Trevor Bauer received a two-year suspension from MLB.  He said he plans to appeal the ban.  Updates to come.

The Dodgers beat the Tigers, 5-1.

We had a combined no-no earlier this season and now we have a successful solo effort.  The Angels’ Reid Detmers threw a no-hitter in a 12-0 win over the Rays.  He is the youngest Angels pitcher to throw a no-hitter in franchise history.
