What a thriller today in Jacksonville!  The Cowboys were denied a playoff berth when the Jaguars' Rayshawn Jenkins picked off Dak Prescott in overtime and returned it 52 yards for a walk-off pick-six touchdown in a 40-34 loss.

What a thriller today in Las Vegas!  The Raiders' Chandler Jones picked off the Patriots' lateral attempt on the final play of the game and returned it for a walk-off touchdown against his former team and maybe the wildest NFL finish ever in a 30-24 win.

I hope everybody is watching football on their last Monday before Christmas.  The Rams are playing the Packers on "Monday Night Football" at Lambeau Field.  For some alternative fun, Lil Wayne will join Peyton Manning and Eli Manning on the ManningCast.  Updates to come.

I hate saying this, especially since Friday is the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception.  Steelers Hall of Famer Franco Harris' son, Dok Harris, told the Associated Press that Franco died at 72.

If I had a nickel for each time a coach was fired in the last two seasons before finishing his first year, I would have two nickels, which is not a lot, but it is weird it has happened twice.  The Broncos fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett after just 15 games and expressed confidence in general manager George Paton.

I am ready to unwind from the holidays with some football.  The Chargers are playing the Colts on “Monday Night Football”.  The Chargers’ Justin Herbert is chasing a playoff spot.  Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday is in search of his first home win.  Updates to come.

You just know he's going to get the knock on his door in his first year of eligibility.  Cardinals defensive end J. J. Watt, a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, announced that this will be his final NFL season.

It is big game time!  Josh Allen and the Bills are facing Joe Burrow and the Bengals on “Monday Night Football” in a game with huge home-field implications.  Updates to come.

UPDATE:  This was scary to watch.  The Bills vs. Bengals game was temporarily suspended after the Bills’ Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field and received CPR.

UPDATE 2:  I do not blame the players for not wanting to continue after what they witnessed.  The Bills vs. Bengals game was officially postponed tonight.  The NFL said Hamlin is in critical condition.

UPDATE 3:  We now know more details of what happened.  According to the Bills, Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest and his heartbeat was restored on the field.  He is currently sedated and in critical condition.

Still no update on Hamlin as of this morning.

I've seen a lot of injuries from watching football over the years, but that one takes the top of scary ones. There was barely any contact at all, but proof that it comes down to inches.

The league office should be ashamed for trying to continue that game when the players and coaches refused. Big credit to McDermott and Taylor for coming together as coaches and ending it.
