It always amazes me when baseball comes back because it feels like last season just ended.  Major League Baseball is back as the preseason starts today in Sarasota, Fla.  Let this be your home for news and notes from around the diamond all season long.

I am in disbelief.  Venezuela defeated the United States, 3-2, to claim the nation’s first World Baseball Classic title.

This is all kinds of sleazy!  The Phillies’ Alec Bohm is suing his parents for millions, accusing them of siphoning large amounts of his money and using some to pay their own expenses.  This come as the Phillies beat the Rangers, 5-3.
